By recognizing the many forms abuse can take, we can strengthen Hindu families, support one another with compassion, and build a safer, more resilient community
Constant criticism, being made to feel "not good enough," guilt, insults, manipulation, or being isolated from friends and supportive relationships
Repeated unwanted messages, monitoring someone's location or social media, demanding passwords, sharing private information, or using technology to intimidate or control another person
Being teased, excluded, stereotyped, or harassed because of your culture, religion, clothing, name, language, or traditions, whether at school, work, or online
Using religion, cultural traditions, or family honor to pressure someone into decisions they are uncomfortable with, discourage them from speaking up, or justify controlling behavior. Hindu values are rooted in compassion, respect, and dignity—not fear or coercion
